The Invention Addict Invention Spotlight is an irregularly scheduled post about a unique product and the inventor behind it.

Since Mother’s Day is approaching, I have the privilege of showcasing another baby product. The product in this spotlight is the patent pending BabyDipper®. Yes, necessity is the mother of invention. The BabyDipper® was invented by Barbara Schantz; President, CEO, and Super Mom.

As a mother of two sets of twins, you can imagine the challenges associated with feeding time. Barbara looked for a product that would enable her to feed a baby or two using only one had. When she could not find a product on the market, she invented her own.

One thing that really touched my heart was what I read in the “our story” page of the BabyDipper® website. Barbara writes, “I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis the same day the patent for the Baby Dipper bowl was filed, August 17, 2005. So far I have not been affected very much by the disease, but since there is no telling when there will be a sudden downturn, I keep going full steam all the time.”
